Iritty is a beautiful town in Kannur district located 41 km far from district headquarters. It is one of the fast upcoming town in Kerala. Iritty is one of the four taluks in the district. It is not a municipality, it comes under Keezhur-Chavassery panchayat. The land of Iritty is stunning with its natural beauty.

Iritty is located in the interstate highway passing from Thalassery to Coorg which connects Kerala and Karnataka. Iritty bridge, one of the older bridge here which is constructed by British before Indian independence. This place is connected to all major towns and villages in the district by state highways and other major roads. There are frequent bus service from Iritty to Main Cities, Kannur and Thalassery and all other villages. An operating center of KSRTC is located in Iritty.

  

Railway is not active here. There is a long pending need from people of whole Malabar region of Kerala to have a Rail line from Thalassery to Mysore, which  is still lying under political disputes. Nearest Railway stations are Thalssery and Kannur which are located 42 km away from Iritty.

Nearest Airports are Calicut (134 km) and Mysore (164 km). The proposed Kannur International Airport is just 18 km from Iritty at Moorkhanparamba near Mattanur.
